Snow in March

Yes, we too thought it was kind of odd that is snowed at the end of March. But my kids are just like me and get giddy at the sight of snow, so of course we went out and played in it.

Blake packing a snow ball for a snow ball fight with big brother Tommy.

Yeah!! I finally got Tommy.

Okay, we are big nerds. Yes, we even got the sled out and went sliding down our hill a couple of times. But hey, we don't get snow around here everyday.

And of course we had to make a snowman.

Blake- where did frosty's carrot nose go?

Feeling bad about eating Frosty's carrot nose!

Mommy, Done??

This is the difference between Tommy and Blake. Tommy ever since he was little has been my little nurturer. When I was pregnant with Blake and with this pregnancy if I am throwing up he will often come in and see if I am ok. Rub my back, ect. Not Blake. Blake finds me throwing up to be quite annoying. If he hears me even start gagging he will say sternly, Mommy, NO PUKE! If I actually throw up he will follow me into the bathroom (every time) and stand next to me, saying Mommy, Done?? Over and over until I am done. The other day he got tired of waiting and asking so he finally said, Mommy Done, and then slammed the toilet seat on my head. Letting me know I was done and he was tired of waiting.

I have to admit I am a little depressed because my nausea is getting worse and worse. I thought for sure if I got my Zofran medicine soon enough I could keep myself from getting too sick. The hardest part for me being so sick, is not throwing up all the time, but what it does to my family. Eric, bless his heart is trying so hard to pick up the slack, make meals, clean the house, play with the kids, do the laundry, ect. But I can tell he is already overwhelmed. Tommy couldn't be any sweeter. He is thrilled that he is going to have a new brother or sister(he is convinced it is a sister and there is no convincing him otherwise.) He takes really good care of me. When Blake goes down for a nap, he knows that mommy really needs to lay down too. He is really good at being quiet, playing by himself, and even answers the phone when it rings so it won't wake me up. This surprised me because I didn't even ask him to do this. So I thought it was really sweet. But my heart hurts for him, because since he is so sensitive, he is the easiest for me to neglect.

Eric's birthday is on Friday? Any suggestions? I don't have a lot of energy and defiantly have no desire to go out to dinner or make him anything. We are on a tight budget, but I defiantly want to do something for him to show him how much I love him and how much I appreciate all he is doing for me and our family. He really is quite a trooper.

This coming week is spring break. I am praying with all my heart that the Zofran will start kicking in and things will get better. But just in case, any suggestions on what I can do with he kids? I don't want them to watch TV all during spring break because mommy is sick. Any fun and creative ideas, that don't take to much energy.

Anyone have any nausea advice for me? Something that really worked for them? I will try anything.

I haven't mopped for a while so the boys decided to help out.....

Dad, Tommy and Blake had fun mopping the floors for me yesterday. Like Tommy says we should always mop this way.

The Mendenhall's Easter

Sorry this post is so late. Since I have been so sick maybe you will forgive me. Our kids had a lot of fun this year as well. We started off with the Easter Egg Hunt and dinner at my mom's house. IT was a lot of fun. It was so fun to see the difference between the bigger kids and the little kids. It makes me sad to see how big Ethan, Audrey and Tommy are getting. They just aren't toddlers anymore. But they still had a lot of fun. Those 3 will always be kids at heart. Blake had a lot of fun too. He knew just what to do and took the Easter Egg Hunt very seriously.

On Sunday we had an Easter Egg hunt with our neighbors. Blake fell asleep so it was just Tommy and Desirae. We were not sure if the rain would ever let up so they were such troopers and searched for the eggs in the front yard. Sometimes I wonder if they do that just to please us parents. What troopers.

At the end of the day Blake and Tommy had fun going through there baskets and checking out all the yummy candy. This is the closest thing I got to them in there Easter outfits this year.

Our Little Peanut

We had our ultrasound this morning. Good news is there is only one little baby. And I am only 8 weeks along, both the Dr. and the Ultrasound lady cannot believe that the Dr. was able to hear our baby's heart beat so soon. Eric says it is our baby with a big Heart. Becca says it is my little show off, already trying to be in the spot light and getting attention. We saw the little heart beating. It was so weird that I am only 8 weeks and 5 days along and you can already see a little baby inside of me with a little heartbeat. The Ultrasound lady says the baby and everything looks very healthy so far. Yippeee. She obviously couldn't tell if it was a girl or boy yet. I will be going back at 20 weeks to find that out.
I was able to get some medicine from the doctor yesterday which made me happy. I can tell it is definatley helping, but I was sad that I still threw up this morning. I wanted this medicine to take all those symtoms completly away. But no such luck. I still feel some nausea. But so far this pregnancy is a lot better than what I went through with little Blake. My dr. says at 8 weeks with Blake I had already lost 13 pounds and was in the hospital getting IV's. So I guess I should just be happy.
***** We can't decide. Who do you think the baby looks like? Me or Eric?? Boy or Girl?? I guess I am kidding myself, it is just a little peanut. But if I do say so myself, I can't help but think it is the cutest little peanut in the world.

So Here is Scoop!

Yes, I am pregnant. Yes I have been sick, but I would say so far it has been a tad bit better than how sick I got with Blake. I haven't had to go to the hospital yet. How far along am I??? I have no idea. Most of you don't know this but I actually miscarried at the end of January. Not long after I miscarried, maybe 4-6 weeks. I started feeling funny again. I called the Dr. thinking maybe I didn't actually miscarry. By my HGC levels they concluded that I did miscarry and this is a new pregnancy. So somehow I got pregnant 2 weeks after I miscarried. We think. Since I don't want to get as bad as I did with Blake I went to see the Dr. today to get some of the GOOD medicine. The Dr. and I guessed by my miscarriage date that I must be approx. 8 1/2 weeks pregnant. Today in the office he decided to check for the heartbeat. You usually don't hear the heartbeat in the office until 10-12 weeks, but for some reason he heard the heart beat right away. So now we are all confused.

Another interesting fact, since I am high risk for miscarriage due to my low progesterone levels they have been watching my levels very carefully. My HGC level jumped from my first appointment from 600-5000 then from 5000 to 35000. The Dr. then casually asked me if twins run in my family. So there is always that possibility. But if that was the case we probably wouldn't have heard the heartbeat so soon since twins are usually a lot smaller.

The good news is, since they are so baffled at trying to figure out how far a long I am. I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow at 9:50am. Then all my questions should be answered.

Now that I have my computer fixed, I will keep you updated. Unless I am in the bathroom puking my brains out. I shouldn't be though, since I got the good medicine today. Yippeee!!

Watch Out Uncle Jason... Here comes Stunt Man Tommy!!

Now that Tommy has learned to Ride his bike, he has become quite the dare devil. He is doing all sorts of tricks. He though no hands was pretty cool, but then Dad talked him into making a jump. It was so hillarious. He would go sooooo slow over this tiny little jump. Just look at his face. He is so proud of himself and thinks he is quite the cool dude.

Here he gets a litle more daring. Not much, but a little.

Even Eric wated to show his stuff

More cute pics of my cute biker dudes...

I've Finally Updated my Blog

Okay, I will admit that I have been a big slacker when it comes to blogging. Why, I have no reason, except I seem to always be busy, doing what, I have no clue. Anyways, here are some of our recent pics.

We really enjoyed Presidents weekend and having Eric home on Monday. We spent the whole weekend just having fun and hanging out with our family. It was nice, not to be doing all of the chorse around our house like it seems like we always do. Instead we went the the zoo on Saturday with our friends the Stephensons and then afterwards they had us over for a yummy Asian dinner. On Monday we called up Aunt Jamie, and cousins Ryan and Emily and invited them to go to the Childrens Museum in Seattle with us. We had a lot of fun.

First the Zoo Pics:

(THE WHOLE GANG)

(Tommy and his really good friend Wakley going down the slide at the play area. They were having so much fun.)

(Even Blake had so much fun on the slide. Even though he went slower than a snail. He went over and over, and then smiled really big at the end.)

That was fun. I want to go again!

( A Couple of Monkeys posing for a picture. Don't you just love Blakes Typical wrinkled brow. He always looks so concerned.)

(I think this Tiger looks a little bored!)
(What a couple of Studs, I think they are all such cute boys)

(Ahhhh.... so cute!!!)

(Playing Shy)

(This is the first good picture I got of the Elephants. Usually they won't cooroperate for me. )

We had such a fun time, I think the animals must have really liked us too because one of the peacocks tried to jump in the car with the Stephenson's. I think it was because Joe was feeding him a granola bar.

Now our trip the the Seattle Musuem:

(Cute Picture of Daddy and Tommy)

(Ryan and Tommy - Best Cousins)

(Yet another slide, weee!!!)

(I think that Tommy is so good looking. What a cute kid)

(Ryan, Tommy and Blake pretending to be real fireman.)

Okay, so for all of you who have been pestering me about updating my blog. And been threatening to not check my blog anymore, Here you go!!

NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!!
