Wish Me Luck

At the beginning of July I practiced my running skills and did a 5K with my friend Sandi Stephenson. I am glad I did, so I could see what the whole running thing is like since I am doing the Tacoma Narrows half marathon this weekend. Saturday in fact. What a crazy thing to do on my birthday.

Anyone who knows me well, knows running has never been my thing. I just decided to take it up after Brody was born. My friend Annalisa Perkins talked me into doing a half marathon with her. I thought it would be a good goal for me and something to push myself more than I normally would.

Part of me is really excited to run this. And part of me is scared to death. We have been training and have run 10 miles quite a few times, but then my leg started flaring up. We didnt get a chance to run the full 13 miles , I think I will be able to do it, but there are two things that worry me- 1. that my leg will flare up again and 2. that the heat will kill me. Of course this has to be the hottest week in Washington in like forever.

But I am excited nonetheless. I think it will be cool to say I did it. And the part I am looking forward to the most, is the finish line where Eric and the kids will be waiting for me.

Here are some pics of me doing the Kent Cornocopia 5K with Sandi. I am guessing I am going to look a lot works aftger 13 miles.
